Frequently Asked Questions

What is the cost?

The cost of one share for 2012 will be  $500.

What is the duration?

A share covers the 2012 harvest season — 15 weeks from early-June until mid September.

Where are the pick-up locations?

Currently in the Fairbanks area we have pick-ups at the farm and at  Beaver Sports on College Road. We also deliver shares to the Denali Park/Healy area via Roadrunner Expediting  - at a cost of ~ $3 per delivery.

How much can one share feed?

One share should provide enough vegetables for a family of four. This may vary depending on your household’s eating habits.

Can I split my share?

We do not sell half shares but many members choose to split their shares with a friend or neighbor. If you decide to split your share please make sure we have contact information for all participating partners.

Is there a work requirement?

No, we do not require our members to work on the farm.  However, we will have volunteer days when you and your family can visit the farm and help us out.

When do I sign up?

We prefer you sign up before March, however we continue to accept members during the harvest season as long as the CSA is not at its full capacity of 160 members.

How do I sign up?

Please follow this link to sign up for this season’s harvest.    When we have allotted all our spaces for the season we will close the link.

What if Rosie Creek Farm is full for the season?

We do occasionally add members the last minute or mid-season if we can accommodate more.  However, there are several other wonderful CSAs here in the Tanana Valley:

Basically Basil – www.basicallybasil.com, 479-2089

Calypso Farm and Ecology Center – www.calypsofarm.org, 451-0691

Dogwood Garden – woodak@mosquitonet.com

Feedback Farm – feedbackfarm@gmail.com

Spinach Creek Farm – spinachcreek@gci.net, 455-6043

You can also check out the Alaska Community Agriculture Association‘s website for information on more CSA farms in the Tanana Valley and across the state.
